Himalayas of Nepal- home to eight 8000ers

Introduction of Himalayas
Pamir is a junction or a knot of the Himalayas, Tian Shan, Karokoram, Kunlun and Hindu Kush Mountain Ranges in Central Asia. From the imaginary point of Pamir, three Mountain ranges expand in three different directions. One of them is the Great Himalayas. Himalayas are a colossal mountain system, which soar like a barrier line between Indian sub-continent and Tibetan Plateau. The range stretches from Uttarakhanda, India and covers the entire northern Nepal bordering China and ends at Assam, India. The mountain system expands from west to east, from Indus river valley to Brahmaputra river valley, forming an arc of 2,400 km. As with other civilizations, these river basins are the birth place of South Asian culture and tradition. The Himalayas, which is now sheltering around 3 billion people at its foothills have profoundly shaped the nature and life of this region. 10 out of 14, 8000ers Mountain peaks of the world fall in the Himalayas. The other four 8000ers fall in Karakoram Range. However, all the 8000ers fall in Asia.
