Photo essay on Dolpo Trek

Dolpa, a Wild West region in Nepal is a collection of dispersed high altitude hamlets practicing still the cultures of ancient Tibetan Buddhism. Northern border flanked by the Tibet, Autonomous Region of China, and the part of Dolpo comprises untrodden regions of Shey Phoksundo National Park. Dolpo is popular among the trekkers as off the beaten trekking region of Nepal as well as the settlements of Bons, Buddhists prior to Buddha.
The location for the Oscar nominated movie Himalayan Caravan Dolpo, is not an easy trek to accomplish as the trials here lack facilitating tea houses as in the treks to Annapurna and Everest Regions. Phoksundo Lake, Shey Gompa, Dho Tarap and high passes including Jeng La Pass among others are the prime highlights of Dolpo Trek.
