If you have a short time or tight schedule but you want to let yourself lost for sometimes in nature. Then Mardi Himal is for you. Mardi Himal lies in the Annapurna circuit which is surrounded by enchanting views of Mountains like Machapuchre, Annapurna south, Huichuli, and Daulaghiri in far.

Fantastic Mardi Himal Trek is located just east of one of the most legendary trekking destination of Nepal, the Annapurna Base Camp trek. Mardi Himal trek is an unseen gem yet. Few trekkers make their way to the Mardi Himal Base Camp outstandingly positioned at the base of Mardi Himal and the Annapurna region´s most iconic mount Machapuchhre literally meaning “Fishtail”. The trail goes along small winding paths, through enchanted rhododendron forests until you climb out of the forest at an elevation of around 3,300 meters. The landscape changes quite abruptly into a rugged high mountain landscape, with amazing views of Mardi Himal, Machapuchre, Annapurna South, and Hiunchuli.

From High Camp (3700m; some maps incorrectly mention 3900 m) you can climb up to Mardi Himal Base Camp in about 3-4 hours, which offers spectacular close-up views of the entire Annapurna Range. There are simple guesthouses and homestays along the entire route.

Outline Itinerary

  • Day 01:Kathmandu to Pokhara trek to lumle , Kalsee eco resort and lodge ( Netherland camp)
  • Day 02:Netherland Camp to Forest Camp 6/7hrs
  • Day 03:Forest camp to High camp 6/7 hrs
  • Day 04:High camp – Hike to BC and view point 4/5 hrs
  • Day 05:High camp to Forest Camp 7/hrs
  • Day 06:Forest Camp to Australian camp 5/6 hrs (view spot)
  • Day 07:Australian Camp to Pokhara 5 hrs (sightseeing and boating)
  • Day 08:Pokhara to Katmandu
  • Day 01: Kathmandu to Pokhara trek to lumle , Kalsee eco resort and lodge ( Netherland camp)

    Kathmandu to Pokhara by flight. After reaching Pokhara you trek to Lumle by jeep for about one and a half hours. After a short drive to Lumle from Pokhara. We will have a trek of half an hour to Kalsee Eco. There you can see enchanting views of Huichuli, Machapuchrey (fishtail), and Annapurna south. Kalsee Eco is one the best resort in that area

  • Day 02: Netherland Camp to Forest Camp 6/7hrs

    The next morning after breakfast we will be heading towards Forest camp through the jungle. It will around 7 hours to walk uphill. After approximately 3 hours of walk, we reach Deurali, where will have lunch. After lunch, our trials leads to Forest Camp. The trials through the Deurali are accompanied by rhododendrons, oak trees, beautiful views, and breathing takes cool and silent nature. There is four simple tea house at the forest camp.

  • Day 03: Forest camp to High camp 6/7 hrs

    Leaving forest camp, you start walking towards High Camp climbing to an altitude of 3900m walking across beautiful ridges. From Forest Camp, the path leads towards lesser forest trails and more uphill with breathtaking landscapes.
    From Forest Camp, you start walking towards the steep trails. There is almost no settlement in this region except for some people who herd their animals. You first reach the low camp, and then we pass the Nangge Danda to reach the high camp. If the day is not cloudy, you see the glimpses of Machhapuchhre, the Annapurna Range, the valley of Annapurna Base Camp, and Mardi Base Camp. The trek will around 7 hours of walk.

  • Day 04: High camp – Hike to BC and view point 4/5 hrs

    Waking up early in the morning, you will see the sunrise amidst the clouds. After breakfast, you walk on a narrow rocky trail on the edge of the hilltops to reach the base camp of Mardi Himal.
    Leaving High Camp, you ascend for about 4 hours crossing one hill to another. The view is simply gorgeous as you witness all the mountains (Machapuchre, Annapurna south, and Huichili) up close. After enjoying the views from the base camp, you walk back to the High Camp. You the drop-down to High Camp from Base Camp and stay the night.

  • Day 05: High camp to Forest Camp 7/hrs

    Next morning after having breakfast we will heading back to forest camp through the same trials which we will be around 6 hours of trek.

  • Day 06: Forest Camp to Australian camp 5/6 hrs (view spot)

    On a clear day, Australian Camp offers a panoramic view of the Annapurna range, Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchhre, and Manaslu.
    The trail continues through the forest area. However, the vegetation varies as rhododendron trees become densely populated in this area. Ferns, lichens, and moss cover the trees dominantly

  • Day 07: Australian Camp to Pokhara 5 hrs (sightseeing and boating)

    The next day you will trek to Kande which is about an hour trek from Australian Camp. After reaching Kande we will take the jeep to Pokhara. You will reach Pokhara at lunch. After lunch, you will have the opportunity to see the magnificent Pewa and do boating as well there. You will have the opportunity to encounter the night view of the lakeside as well.

  • Day 08: Pokhara to Katmandu

    The Next Day you will have a morning flight to Kathmandu.
